Don't Miss Out on the Benefits of Mothers at WorkSM

If you've never reviewed our Mothers at Work workplace breastfeeding program, you should consider contacting me for a briefing on our latest findings in program outcomes. For example, we've found that 65% of Mothers at Work participants had two or fewer sick baby doctor visits whereas the national norm is 3.6. And 91% of participants said that Mothers at Work increased their morale and loyalty toward their employer. With August 1 - 7 being World Breastfeeding Week, there's no better way to support your new parents than by offering the Mothers at Work Program!

Did you know the employees of all LifeCare clients have access to discounted breastpumps through LifeCare, even if you don't have the enhanced Mothers at Work program? Breastpumps provide a great savings to employees and are critical to ensuring that mothers continue to breastfeed after returning to work. For these reasons alone, you should consider promoting the breastpumps on a regular basis; this also will help your organization reap the health benefits of breastfeeding. For maximum success, you might consider implementing a subsidy in 2009 to offset some of the cost for employees, as this could significantly increase the number of employees who choose to breastfeed.
