LifeCare Launches Its Latest Service Innovationthe Discount Center
Everybody loves a bargainbut almost nobody has the time to run from
store to store searching for one. That’s no longer a problem for LifeCare clients and their
employees. Bargains are now just a mouse-click away, thanks to our new online Discount Center,
open 24/7 and conveniently accessible through our private web site, LifeCare.com. The Discount
Center, which launched January 1, 2003, provides employees with access to pre-negotiated
discounts and special offers on a wide variety of products and services nationwide. To access
these savings, employees simply log onto the LifeCare web site, click on the Discount Center
hyperlink, then navigate to the bargains of their choice within the following categories:

“As with all of our services, the Discount Center offers our clients a very
strong value proposition while helping their employees manage their lives more efficiently,”
notes LifeCare CEO, Peter Burki. For employees, discounts are available for every life event
they encounter. Prospective homebuyers, for instance, can look for rebates on loans. Parents
can receive discounts on child care services. Long-distance caregivers can search for reduced
travel rates. There are even monthly specials featured on the Discount Center home page.
“For our clients, the Discount Center offers several key advantages,” Burki
says. “First, we offer a vast array of national and local discounts. Second, we incorporate
each of our client’s existing discounts into their own customized site. Third, vendors and
discount categories can be easily added or removed from the site. And finally, clients no
longer need to worry about negotiating future discounts because we do that for them, too.
Once a client signs up for the Discount Center, they simply pass all future vendor calls
to us. The time and administrative effort that clients will save is tremendous.”
One of the most valuable features of the Discount Center is that it brings
savings opportunities directly to employees’ desktops without a bit of research. Employees
who find a discount of interest then have three simple options: 1) click on the provided
link to the vendor site to make their purchase; 2) print out a coupon for redemption at
the time of purchase; or 3) call the number shown for obtaining the discount by telephone.
To ensure that employees receive the best possible offers, LifeCare receives no money back
and no percentage of the discounts. Rather, we pass all of the savings on to our clients.
And, as with all of our services, we have strict quality control procedures in place to

Burki says that LifeCare’s Product Development team began work on the Discount
Center last year, when a growing number of clients expressed interest in eliminating administrative
