LifeCare Delivers E-Learning Opportunities 24/7

Wouldn’t it be great if the seminars you wanted to attend were held at your convenience—and you didn’t even have to leave your desk to participate? That’s the basic idea behind LifeCare’s e-learning efforts, headed up by Russ Dutcher, Client Education Services Manager.

“We want employees to be able to access information on the full spectrum of work/life issues whenever it’s most convenient for them,” Dutcher says. “That’s why we offer two types of online seminars in addition to our onsite seminars: Webcast seminars and archived seminars. Webcast seminars are held live via our Web site, LifeCare.com, several times per month and allow viewers to interact with the seminar leader. Archived seminars are pre-recorded and stored in our online library, so that employees can access them at any time on their own. By providing both types of seminars, we’re essentially delivering knowledge 24/7, which means we can accommodate even the toughest employee schedules.”

The Webcast seminars are developed each month by our Life Event Management specialists and Client Education experts. Each one focuses on a timely work/life topic and is presented at various times throughout the month by one of our in-house training experts. To encourage employee participation, we schedule them at various times throughout the day and evening so employees can join in from their home or their office.

To view a Webcast seminar, employees log onto LifeCare.com, click on the “Explore” tab, and then click on the “Seminars” tab. An overview of that month’s Webcast seminar is given, along with a list of the times and dates it will be available. Employees simply sign up for the session day and time that is most convenient for them and then log on at the appropriate time. Best of all, the seminars are interactive (with participants connected by both Web and telephone), so each participant can ask questions and contribute to the conversation directly.  “We’ve seen increased interest and employee participation each month—mainly due to word of mouth.” says Dutcher. “In fact, our January seminar on Healthy Meal Planning was so popular, we added more sessions to accommodate all the employees who registered.” Other recent Webcast seminar topics have included:

An Adult Care Overview

Beating the Holiday Blues

Child Care Options

Protecting Your Child

Managing Work and Personal Life

Prenatal Planning: Preparing for Upcoming Changes

Stress Management

To provide employees with take-away educational materials, downloadable handouts are available (in PDF format) with all of LifeCare’s seminars. Employees are also encouraged to seek out additional information about a topic on the LifeCare Web site or to contact a LifeCare specialist for personalized assistance. “We believe these seminars are a great way to deliver information and the perfect opportunity for clients to increase utilization of the LifeCare program,” Dutcher says. Upcoming seminars include “Summer Care Options” in February and “Time Management and Organizational Skills” in March.

Archived seminars, which are available online 24/7, address a wide range of issues including parenting and child care, adult care, health and wellness, and stress management, to name a few. To view an archived seminar, employees simply log onto LifeCare.com, click on the “Explore” tab, and then click on the “Archived Seminars” tab. They can then select the seminar of their choice from the list provided.

If you have suggestions for a seminar topic or wish to learn more about promoting this valuable benefit to your employees, please contact your account manager.
