LifeCare Introduces Innovative Online Healthy Living Programs and Content

In a recent online poll of client employees, LifeCare found that nearly half of all respondents (44 percent) said they don’t have enough time for exercise, meal planning and other activities that would help them lead healthier lifestyles. To help busy employees proactively take care of their health, LifeCare is now offering clients new online health tools and content (at an additional cost). Specifically, from the Health Community on our web site, clients can access “Healthy Living Programs,” which are being offered in partnership with Miavita, a leader in the delivery of action-oriented programs that help individuals achieve healthier lifestyles, prevent disease, improve quality of life and reduce health care costs.

The “Healthy Living Programs” enable employees to participate in personalized health programs at their own pace. These programs include:

Healthier Diet Program

With the prevalence of fast food, high-fat snacks and huge portion sizes, maintaining a nutritious diet is harder then ever. The Healthier Diet Program shows employees how making simple substitutions can improve their diet, and it gives them a long-range plan for improved eating. This six-week program provides participants with:

Personalized meal plans and food preparation tips

Tips for healthy dining when out or on the go

Techniques for reading food labels and making smart choices when grocery shopping

Coming Soon—Health Risk Assessments

In coming weeks, LifeCare clients will be able to add an online Health Risk Assessment (HRA) tool to their Health Program for an additional fee. This tool will help employees assess their risk for certain diseases and conditions, and it will offer recommendations for reducing risks and maintaining good health. The HRA is fully integrated with the healthy living programs described above, enabling employees to take the appropriate action for positive change.

The HRA addresses all major lifestyle factors, personal and family history, symptoms, functional health status, quality of life, and more. LifeCare clients will receive more information when the HRA becomes available.

LifeCare clients interested in learning more about these new health and wellness offerings should contact their account manger. Non-clients who wish to learn more should call LifeCare at 866-675-3751.
