LifeCare Upgrades Online Health Content for Free

Due to the growing popularity of our online health and wellness resources, LifeCare has once again enhanced the depth and functionality of these resources at no additional charge to clients!

Specifically, we’ve partnered with Healthwise®, Incorporated (a highly respected nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people make better health decisions) to bring clients an online Health Encyclopedia, an entirely new component of the “Health” community on LifeCare.com. The Health Encyclopedia gives clients and their employees access to:

More than 5,000 health-related topics—Link to articles, illustrations and other informational resources, all based on the most reliable, up-to-date medical research available.

An A-Z Index—Conveniently access an entire encyclopedia of materials alphabetically. Many of these materials include links to helpful illustrations and graphics.

Cerner-Multum Drug Database—Locate information on thousands of medications, their use, warnings, side effects, possible drug interactions, etc.

Symptom Checker—Look up hundreds of symptoms, possible diagnoses and treatments, general prevention tips, and preparing for a doctor appointment.

Diagnosis Lookup—Locate information about diagnoses, treatment, prevention and how to get help for hundreds of medical conditions.

Medical Tests—Find information about various tests (e.g., CT scans, mammograms, ultrasound, etc.), including why and how tests are done, how to prepare, risks, results, and more.

National Cancer Institute—Access hundreds of articles from this expert source regarding every type of cancer, treatment options, helpful resources and more.

National Organization for Rare Disorders—Access the organization's library of articles on rare diseases, causes, treatments, etc.

To access the Health Encyclopedia, client employees simply log onto LifeCare.com, click on the “Health” tab, and then access the Health Encyclopedia by clicking on any of its subject/content areas.

“We’re delighted to be partnering with such a high-quality, market-leading organization as Healthwise,” said LifeCare CEO, Peter G. Burki. “Together, we’re providing LifeCare clients with incredibly robust health and wellness resources. And that’s a top priority for us, especially in light of the fact that ‘Health’ was the second most frequently accessed area of the LifeCare web site in 2003. Clearly, client employees want access to top-notch health and wellness information. And with Healthwise’s assistance, that's exactly what we’re providing.”

Clients interested in learning more about any of LifeCare’s health and wellness services should contact their account manager. Non-clients should call LifeCare at 866-675-3751.
