New Polls Reveal Employee Work/Life Balance Preferences, Identify GCM Services as Overwhelming Need

In the most recent online polls of LifeCare’s client employees, respondents revealed their thoughts on achieving work/life balance as well as their greatest obstacles to leading a healthy lifestyle. In the most recent poll, individuals were asked to select one of five statements that most accurately reflected their feelings about their own work/life situation. Here’s how they responded:

47% selected the statement -- “I would like to stay at my current job but work fewer hours and have more time for my children.”

23% selected -- “I would like to quit my job to stay at home full-time for child care-related reasons.”

14% selected -- “I would like to stay at my current job because it offers the right work/life balance as is.”

13% selected -- “I would like to stay at my current job but work fewer hours for non-child care related reasons.”

3% selected -- “I would like to quit my job to stay at home for other reasons (non-child care).”

In the previous month’s poll, client employees were asked whether they thought that their older loved ones could benefit from in-home services (e.g., assessments, monitoring, bill-paying, etc.) of a geriatric care manager (GCM) this year. An overwhelming 82 percent of respondents answered, “yes,” while only 18 percent said, “no.”  In response to this growing need, LifeCare now offers one of the most comprehensive and flexible GCM Programs available. It provides face-to-face in-home assessments and care plans; flexible care hours (you can give employees a specific number of hours to use toward a variety of GCM services such as facility reviews, in-home assessments, ongoing care coordination, etc.); and onsite workplace geriatric care services (employees can schedule one-on-one sessions to receive counseling and educational resources from a GCM). Contact your account manager for additional details and pricing.

Each month, LifeCare conducts an online poll to help clients better understand employees’ evolving opinions regarding work/life issues. If you have an idea for a poll that you’d like LifeCare to conduct, simply contact your account manager and we’ll be happy to consider it!
