LifeCare Gives Students Online Access to Professional Tutors via Homework Connection

Homework just got a lot less stressful for students and parents alike, thanks to Homework Connection, an innovative new LifeCare service that provides students with direct, unlimited access to professional tutors via a secure web site. Best of all, the sessions are always one-on-one, no scheduling is required and students have unlimited usage of the service.

LifeCare is partnering with Tutor.com—the world leader in live, online tutoring—to deliver the service. Since 1998, Tutor.com has served over 2 million online tutoring sessions, earning the trust of parents and more than 1,600 libraries across the United States and Canada. The more than 1,300 tutors serving LifeCare clients are certified teachers, college professors, professional tutors and college students located in North America. Spanish-speaking tutors are available for all Math and Science subjects. All tutors have undergone an extensive training program, as well as in-depth background and reference checks. And every session with a student is recorded for quality control and ongoing mentor review.

Homework Connection

How Homework Connection Works
Using Homework Connection couldn't be simpler. The moment students need help, they connect to tutors online via a link on the LifeCare web site. Students and tutors collaborate in a secure web environment: they can communicate via instant messaging, draw problems on an interactive whiteboard, share files and browse educational resources together on the web. No special equipment or software is needed. Homework Connection tutors work with students to provide help—not answers—and to bring every session to an educationally sound conclusion.

To protect children while they're online, all tutoring sessions are completely anonymous; tutors do not have access to account information; they see only the students' first names; and personal information is never exchanged.

Implementing Homework Connection for employers is easy and hassle-free and LifeCare helps clients develop a promotional campaign that will quickly get employees' attention while delivering results. “For organizations that want to give their working parents peace of mind and give students a whole new level of personal attention, Homework Connection is the perfect solution,” said LifeCare CEO, Peter G. Burki.
