LifeCare Updates Child Safety and Adult Care Kits

We recently updated two of the LifeCare Kits that some clients and their employees have access to:

Child Safety Kit—We have replaced the Emergency Medical Treatment book that was included in the kit with the book, Pocket First Aid. Based on feedback from parents and a careful review of both titles, we determined that Pocket First Aid is a higher quality and more useful resource for parents. Written by the American College of Emergency Physicians, this pocket-sized first aid guide provides clear, step-by-step explanations of essential first aid methods, with each procedure illustrated through photographs. (Other items in this kit remain the same.)

Adult Care Kit—In response to client feedback, we’ve replaced the broad-coverage LifeCare Guides, Caregiving and Care Options, with resources that are more focused on users’ top adult care concerns. These new resources are: 1) A LifeCare Guide: Encouraging Healthy Habits In Adult Loved Ones; 2) A LifeCare Guide: Home Safety for Older Adults; 3) A LifeCare Guide: Day to Day Caregiving; and 4) A LifeCare Guide: What You Need to Know About Becoming a Caregiver. (Other items in the kit remain the same.)

New Healthier Children Guide Available
The diet and exercise habits that a child develops during her/his school years often become habits for life. That’s why LifeCare recently created a new Guide entitled, Encouraging Healthy Habits in Your School-Aged Child.

This Guide was designed to help parents foster positive routines and experiences related to diet, exercise, sleeping, dental care, etc. The Guide even addresses subjects as varied as a good immunization schedule, nightmares and night terrors, and personal hygiene. It also offers a helpful list of organizations that can provide readers with additional expert, in-depth information on issues related to childhood health.

If you’re a LifeCare client and would like a copy of this Guide, simply contact your account manager or visit our web site to download it on your own. If you’re not a client, please order your copy by visiting our web site (www.lifecare.com), clicking on the “Store” tab at the top of the page, and then clicking on “Educational Materials.” You can then type the name of the Guide into our search engine or find it by browsing through the materials under “Family.” The Guide costs just $2.50 per copy.
