Healthier People, Healthier Organizations
Health Matters Blog Debuts on LifeCare.com

I wanted to let you know that I've launched a blog called “Health Matters,” which offers helpful information and links to useful resources regarding trends in healthy aging and lifestyle matters and how they affect your workforce. The blog is accessible on LifeCare's public web site, www.lifecare.com.

In my first several entries, I've provided links to the latest studies on smoking,
weight loss, the impacts
of healthy lifestyle choices,and other key topics. I hope to provide LifeCare clients with the kind of information they may never had access to in the past—information that can help them make more informed decisions when it comes to Human Resources policies and the health and wellness of their people. By doing so, I also hope to enhance senior management's perception of HR as a strategic partner among LifeCare's client organizations.  

I'll be updating my blog regularly so be sure to check it often!


As always, I want to address the topics that are most important to you in this column and the best way to do that is with your input! So please feel free to email me with questions, success stories or comments. I look forward to hearing from you.

Dr. Barney Spivack's medical career spans more than 25 years, with a focus on the care of older adults, chronic disease, and long-term care. Prior to joining LifeCare, he was the Director of Medical Services at Waveny Care Network in New Canaan, Connecticut. Before that, he was Director of Geriatric Medicine at Norwalk and Stamford Hospitals. Dr. Spivack also is active in the American Medical Directors Association and is President of the Connecticut Geriatrics Society.
