Plan Ahead Legal Benefits

Help your employees execute critical legal and financial documents for themselves and their family members with Plan Ahead Benefit. Choose from our Basic or Enhanced services.

Plan Ahead Basic: Employees are entitled to receive:

  • Attorney Consultations
    • Telephonic or in-person for up to two (2) hours per topic; (may be authorized in one hour increments; second hour authorized as needed)
    • Four (4) initial consultations per member per benefit year
    • 25% discount off plan attorney additional fees/rates (excluding flat or contingency fee services)
  • Simple Will and Simple Living Will Preparation*: Members will have their simple will and simple living will prepared by a plan attorney at no cost. Plan attorneys will also prepare complex wills at a 25% discount off their regular fees.

Enhanced Plan Ahead Benefit: Employees are entitled to receive the above benefits plus the following:

  • Durable Power of Attorney: A written document giving full power and authority to another person (authority survives incapacity or disability). Employees pay only a $35 co-pay.
  • Healthcare Durable Power of Attorney: A written document giving full power and authority to make decisions involving only healthcare (authority survives incapacity or disability). $35 co-pay.
  • Healthcare Directive: A written document detailing what life-prolonging treatment should be withheld or provided if member becomes unable to communicate those wishes. $35 co-pay.
  • Financial Power of Attorney: A written document giving full power and authority to another person to represent the member in financial matters. Document is not effective upon incapacity of the member. $35 co-pay.

Employees are entitled to one of each document per employee; and one of each per employee’s spouse (or older parents). The co-pay is capped at $95.00 for three (3) or more planning documents. Fee includes the review and update of each document every 3 years.
