Barbara J. McMahon Joins LifeCare®
as Practice Leader, Heading Up Work/Life Direct Business
WESTPORT, CT, June 28, 2007 – LifeCare®,
Inc., provider of comprehensive specialty care services
and a longtime leader in the work/life industry, today
announced that Barbara J. McMahon has joined the company
as Practice Leader, responsible for expanding LifeCare's
work/life direct business, increasing its market awareness,
setting strategy and spearheading innovative growth
solutions, effective immediately. Ms. McMahon reports
to Christopher S. Burki, Managing Director of LifeCare.

quite aggressively during the second half of 2007 and

have Barbara come on board. With her expertise and extensive

Ms. McMahon's career spans more than
30 years in the health services industry, helping to
design, build and implement a wide range of business
and behavioral health solutions. Prior to joining LifeCare,
Ms. McMahon served as Hewitt Associates' National Practice
Leader - Behavioral Health, responsible for the leadership
and development of Hewitt's Behavioral Health business.
Prior to that, she was Senior Strategist - Health and
Productivity Management at Hewitt. Before her career
at Hewitt, Ms. McMahon was president and CEO of the
Greater Bridgeport Individual Practice Association,
a not-for-profit organization with 750 member physicians.
She also held several titles of increasing responsibility
at Physicians Health Services, including Director of
Network Management and Regional Director.
Ms. McMahon is widely regarded as an
industry thought leader and is a frequent speaker at
premier industry events.
Ms. McMahon earned her master's degree
in general management studies from Pace University,
as well as a bachelor's degree in English Literature
from the College of New Rochelle. She also holds a certificate
of advanced studies from the University of Connecticut's
School of Health Systems Management.
Ms. McMahon and her husband reside
in Milford, Connecticut.
