of cases of sexual activity, deterred Internet predators,
and prevented teen drug abuse, crime and suicide
SHELTON, CT, June 2, 2008 – Clients
of LifeCare®, Inc., provider of comprehensive
specialty care services and a longtime leader in the
work/life industry, now have free access to the unique
online monitoring service, McGruff SafeGuard, which
enables parents to intelligently monitor their kids'
online activity for potential dangersuch as Internet
predators, sexual abuse, drug use or criminal activityand
receive helpful advice on how to deal with these issues.
The service is being made available to LifeCare clients
under a partnership with McGruff SafeGuard, an affiliate
of the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC).
McGruff SafeGuard allows parents to
conveniently review their kids' activities on a secure
website or receive notification of potentially dangerous
situations via cell phone and email alerts. It monitors
website visits, chat and instant messaging, search engine
phrases, social network profiles on MySpace, Facebook
and many other sites, and it tracks the total hours
children spend online. The service electronically connects
parents with law enforcement in their common battle
against Internet sexual predators.
