New agreement to help employers improve work-life balance for millions of employees nationwide

Shelton, Conn. and Portland, Ore. – LifeCare, the leading work-life benefits provider covering 61,000 clients and 100 million members, and Knowledge Universe®, the nation’s largest private provider of high-quality early childhood education and care, have partnered to provide millions of working families nationwide with greater access to benefits that are proven to increase recruiting success, employee engagement, and productivity.

The collaboration will match LifeCare’s enormous client base with Knowledge Universe’s educational expertise and footprint, which is the largest in the country and more than double the size and capacity of the next-largest child care provider. Together they will provide millions of families the option to access affordable, high-quality education and care for children between the ages of six weeks and 12 years through Knowledge Universe’s family of brands: KinderCare® Learning Centers, CCLC® Child Care Centers, and Champions® before- and after-school programs.

“This is a case of the biggest and the best joining with the biggest and the best,” said Tom Wyatt, CEO of Knowledge Universe. “We are excited to partner with LifeCare to provide its industry-leading client base with a more robust benefits portfolio. And because our footprint is by far the largest in our industry, Knowledge Universe can support LifeCare clients in a way that no other early childhood education and care provider can. We are passionate about our educational mission, and we can’t wait to share that mission with many more families from some the country’s largest employers.”

“At LifeCare, we know that when it comes to solutions for families, one size does not fit all and quality and affordability are of the upmost importance,” said Peter Burki, LifeCare CEO. “That’s why we are thrilled to partner with Knowledge Universe to offer our members the best choice for their families through Knowledge Universe’s nationally accredited centers. When employees have access to high quality, affordable education and care, they are more likely to show up to work focused and engaged knowing that their children are in good hands. And when employees are happy and focused at work, organizations benefit from increased loyalty, engagement and productivity.”
